Measuring Brand Loyalty

Many marketers and academics have adopted the composite measurement approach which comprises both behavioural and attitudinal measurements in order to measure brand loyalty. However, different researchers tend to focus on different aspects of said approach. I have compiled a table (see below) which summarizes brand loyalty measures most commonly used in the literature.

Becoming A Pilot!

Every body dreams of what they want to be when they “grow up”. Some want to be an astronaut, a chef, a teacher or a pilot. For those who want to become a pilot, there are a few things you need to accomplish first. The very first thing you must take into consideration is if you are afraid of heights or not. If you are, maybe becoming a pilot is not the occupation for you. If not, you need to go to school to learn how to fly a plane.

becoming a pilotThere are some schools dedicated to just learning how to fly an aircraft. Some of them don’t require a bachelor’s degree but if you have one, you are more likely to get accepted. At this school they will first teach you by simulations. There are video game-like machines that let you fly a fake plane. You will also take classes to learn about the different controls and signals to use during the flight. Once you have mastered everything on the ground, it is time to go in the air. You will start by flying with an instructor multiple times. Once the instructor feels you have a great idea of what you are doing, he might let you take a solo flight.

Flying a plane can be an experience of a lifetime. There will be some thrill and chills along the way. You are basically working in a portable desk. You get to see different views on a daily basis and transport people from place to place.

Puerto Naos – La Palma

La Palma is still a quiet Canary Island, and especially famous for the walkers who explore the magnificent Parque Nacional de la Caldera de Taburiente in La Palma’s northern interior. In November 2002 the whole of La Palma was affirmed a World Biosphere Reserve.

Puerto Naos La PlamaIt’s an ecstasy of an island, soubriquet as ‘La Isla Bonita’, and a heaven for hikers and nature lovers alike. La Palma is a combination of high grassy mountains to the north, and arid, lower e positioned volcanic cones and lava outflows to the south.

One can find several of the most excellent conserved rock carvings on La Palma – two of the best can be found at La Zarza to the north and Belmaco in Mazo to the south. La Palma is also famous the Astronomical Observatory to be found sky-scraping up at El Roque de Los Muchachos – for gazing star worldwide you can’t do much better than La Palma.

Puerto Naos remains one of the two tourist villages on the west coast of La Palma. There was in the beginning there was a small landing spot for boats carrying bananas, but little remains to be seen. It is a typical, but small scale, tourist center.

The black sand beach has a line of palm trees which give shade and has been awarded the “blue flag” it is equipped with toilets, showers, first aid and a lifeguard. Hotel Sol is the largest hotel constructed at Puerto Naos where as several small apartment buildings are used for tourist lodging.

‘Attractive’ buildings are few in Puerto Naos; most buildings are 3 floor apartment blocks. Most of the apartments are privately owned and often rented by people who work in the tourist industry or are weekend or holiday accommodation for people who live in Los Llanos or Santa Cruz or even mainland Spain.

Puerto Naos has a concourse in addition to h terrace bars, and a selection of bars and restaurants in the side streets.
Puerto Naos is generally warm and sunny with (mostly) warm evenings. On days when the cloud covers the hills above they usually stop along the line of the coast, which enables the sun to shine on the beach.

Weather in Lanzarote

sunny LanzaroteLanzarote, the eastern most island of the Canary Islands archipelago, has weather which is best described as the “Perpetual Spring”. It gets a lot of sunshine throughout the year. The winters are mild and the summers are not extreme.

The climate of the island is pleasant all the year round. The average annual temperature of the island is around 22°C with little rain (less than 16 days a year on average). The rain is usually expected in the months of December and January.

The low lying nature of the island coupled with the lack of high mountains allows it to have almost a constant warm and dry climate. The absence of high mountains means that there are no obstructions for the sea clouds making the island drier and giving it a less sticky climate, perfect for the tourists.

The reason for the constant climate and summers that are not extreme is the presence of North-East Trade winds which blow constantly throughout the month of July and provide cooler air to the island keeping the temperature between 25°C and 30°C. The Canary current flows around the Lanzarote Island providing it with a cool water blanket that brings water temperatures to 18°C to 22°C in summer.

The weather on the northern side of the island is a little more windy and cloudy with a bit more rain than the southern side. The southern side is a bit warmer with loads of sunshine (almost 2500 hours/year) throughout the year.

Temperatures during the spring months (February – April) gradually rise from 23°C to 27°C by the end of April as the summer approaches. Some days though the evenings may become chilly. Water temperature is about 19°C.

Temperatures during the summer months (May – August) are the highest reaching 27°C to 30°C. The North-East Trade wind sea breezes provide cooling for the island during this time. The Canary current keeps the water cool and refreshing. Occasionally Lanzarote island may have very hot summer days when hot “sirocco wind” blows. Locals refer to it as ‘Calima’. The temperatures during this time may reach up to 40°C with sand storms.

Temperatures during the autumn months (September – November) average to 27°C and dropping only around November. There is a lot of sun and the beaches are less crowded.

Temperatures during the winter months (December – January) are pleasant at 22°C during day and dips to 14°C at night. The water temperature is suitable for swimming. It is most favored time of visit for the tourist (especially Europeans).
